On the morning of Wednesday 25th January, we held an opening ceremony of the first phase of our beautiful new premises. 8 Protea Close, Pinelands, is the address of our new home (adjacent to our old location in the Congregational Church) and we are full of thanks to all who made have made this move possible - not least to the Lord for His provision and direction.

Over 80 guests attended the event, including Nazli Domingo-Salie, Deputy Chief Education Specialist at the Western Cape Education Department (WCED). Guests were given a tour of the new school facilities (which include 5 classrooms, and staff, music and administration rooms) and witnessed the cutting of the ribbon by Molly de Witt and Chloe McComb, daughters of the two founding couples.

After the ribbon-cutting, everyone moved over to the church hall where the children sang, there were a couple of speeches and then a delicious tea was enjoyed by all - including an amazing cake, very kindly made by the Mom of a new Grade 1 child.

Chris de Witt, Chairman of the Board of Governors, shared some of the story of the school and the faith-journey it has been for all involved. Miss Mabel Laubscher, school principal, added a few words of encouragement and praise, not least to all the parents who have shown courage enrolling their children in such a pioneering venture. Finally, Ms Nazli Domingo-Salie graciously gave an impromptu speech telling the children how privileged they are to be receiving such a quality education!

The building was constructed in only 6 months by UFCC using their Solid Wall System. Everyone agreed that the result is a beautiful new home for all the children of Grace Primary.
